.TH PKCHECK 1 "2026-08-30" "SPS 1.0" "SPS Commands"
.SH NAME
pkcheck \- verify SPS installed package state
.SH SYNOPSIS
.nf
pkcheck [PACKAGE]
pkcheck --all
pkcheck --missing [PACKAGE]
pkcheck --modified [PACKAGE]
pkcheck --database
.fi
.SH DESCRIPTION
.B pkcheck
compares installed package records with the target filesystem and validates
database relationships. It reports facts and performs no repair.
.SH OPTIONS
.TP
.B --all
Verify all installed manifests and regular-file hashes.
.TP
.B --missing
Report package-owned paths absent from the target root.
.TP
.B --modified
Report regular files whose SHA-256 digest differs from the installed package
record. Administrator-edited protected configuration therefore appears here by
design.
.TP
.B --database
Validate installed metadata, manifests, hashes, hooks, owner mappings, and the
explicit world set without hashing live payload files.
.SH EXIT STATUS
Returns 0 when requested checks pass, 1 when missing/modified payload is found,
2 for usage, 3 when a named package is absent, and 11 for malformed or
inconsistent database state.
