SPS Linux live images for 2026-08-31-12. Use these instead of -11. Plasma on -11 respawned startplasma forever: Mesa GBM could not dlopen libSPIRV-Tools.so, so KWin reported no DRM device even when /dev/dri/card0 existed. The same disc was missing Xwayland, /tmp/.X11-unix, Breeze color schemes, and xdg-document-portal. -11 also still let setup die with `C compiler cannot create executables` after crt1.o was added: gcc's driver links, but cc1 needs libmpc and libisl, which were not on the disc. This set also ships the current Fastfetch Splux ASCII and extra recipes where fastfetch depends on splux-base, so the default config applies when Fastfetch is installed from extra or sget. The disc had gcc and ld but not glibc's crt1.o or the libc.so linker script. Also in this line (from -9/-10): kwin_wayland_wrapper, live DNS, udev before dhcpcd. SPS Linux live images for 2026-08-31-10. Use these instead of -9. Plasma on -8/-9 could start GPU init then die without kwin_wayland_wrapper. All live images had internet by IP but no DNS: no nsswitch.conf, no resolv.conf, and dhcpcd ran before udev. SPS Linux live images for 2026-08-31-9. Use these instead of -8. Plasma on -8 loaded GPU modules, then died with `error starting process "kwin_wayland_wrapper"` and `Failed to create wl_display`. No compositor means no window. What changed: - Copy `/usr/bin/kwin_wayland_wrapper`. startplasma looks it up on PATH to open the Wayland socket; kwin_wayland alone is not enough. - Copy libxcb-cursor so the xcb Qt plugin can load if Wayland is down. - Copy xdg-permission-store so xdg-desktop-portal can start. - Symlink `qdbus` to qdbus6 when the host only ships qdbus6. SPS Linux live images for 2026-08-31-8. Use these instead of -7. A TTY Plasma install on -7 died with `systemd conflicts with elogind (both in this transaction)` because polkit still hard-depended elogind. The Plasma live session on -7 got past D-Bus and then died with `Failed to create wl_display`. What changed: - polkit optional systemd/elogind (sps-extra). OpenRC still gets elogind from init-openrc. systemd Plasma installs no longer pull both. - Live Plasma no longer sets QT_QPA_PLATFORM=wayland, so KWin can create the compositor instead of connecting to a missing socket. - live-rc loads virtio_gpu, qxl, cirrus_qemu, bochs, and related DRM modules. The session waits for /dev/dri/card0. - Mesa libgallium/libEGL_mesa, fontconfig, DejaVu, KWin data, udev DRM rules, and xdg-desktop-portal land on the Plasma disc. SPS Linux live images for 2026-08-31-7. Use these instead of -6. Guided setup on -6 died after the bootloader screen with `guided partitioning requires --format yes`. Plasma on -6 could lose the system D-Bus when the host `system-local.conf` was copied onto the disc. What changed: - Guided layouts ask to erase the disk in the dialog. Scripts still need `--format yes`. - The bootloader screen can run grub-install after a second confirm on the chosen disk. Notes-only is still the default. - After packages land, known services (SDDM, dbus, sshd, NetworkManager, and others) are enabled for systemd or OpenRC. Pass `--services no` to skip. Installing sddm as an extra enables the matching unit. - Plasma + systemd no longer pulls elogind. - Live Plasma always runs the system bus as root and starts it in sysinit, so a copied host dbus config cannot drop privileges to a missing message

Bootable hybrid ISOs for **SPS Linux** (informally Splux). Flash, boot, run `setup`. This set replaces [live-2026-08-31-5](https://github.com/RobertFlexx/SPS/releases/tag/live-2026-08-31-5). **-5** TTY/`setup` printed `no disks found (is lsblk on PATH?)` because this builder ships `lsblk` as `/bin/lsblk` and the ISO only copied `/usr/bin/lsblk`. Every image now copies partition tools by command name (`lsblk`, `sfdisk`, `mkfs.ext4`, `mkfs.vfat`, `mkswap`, `cfdisk`, …). `zsh` is not on the live disc. It is an optional `shells-extra` package after install. Live `/bin/sh` is busybox. QEMU still needs a writable disk besides the CD, for example `-drive file=disk.img,if=virtio`. Bootable hybrid ISOs for **SPS Linux** (informally Splux). Flash, boot, run `setup`. This set replaces [live-2026-08-31-4](https://github.com/RobertFlexx/SPS/releases/tag/live-2026-08-31-4). TTY and slim images are unchanged; Plasma is rebuilt. Plasma on **-4** reached D-Bus, then died: `org.kde.KSplash.service` runs `/usr/bin/plasma_waitforname`, which was not on the disc (`Failed to execute program org.kde.KSplash`). This image copies `plasma_waitforname`, `ksplashqml`, `plasma_session`, and seeds `/root/.config/kdedefaults`. `org.freedesktop.locale1` is systemd-localed; live PID 1 is busybox, so that log line is expected and not fatal. ## Images - **sps-live-tty.iso** (617M): console install image (same as -4). - **sps-live-tty-slim.iso** (31M): tools only (same as -4). - **sps-live-plasma.iso** (1.3G): host Plasma/Wayland, nouveau, Konsole → `setup`. ## SHA-256 ``` 6d85be2c95f038934c

Live `/bin/sh` is always busybox. Installed Splux still defaults to **systemd**; OpenRC is the other choice. This builder has no systemd binaries, so live PID 1 is busybox init. The squashfs is **zstd**, so the live root mounts in seconds. The old xz image sat on `loop0` while a multi-gigabyte Plasma root decompressed. Bootable hybrid ISOs for SPS. Flash, boot to a TTY, mount a destination filesystem on /mnt, and run setup. I wrote the installer (`setup`) and the ISO builder (`mkiso`). Package definitions are in [sps-core](https://github.com/RobertFlexx/sps-core) and [sps-extra](https://github.com/RobertFlexx/sps-extra). ## Images - **sps-live-tty.iso** (509M) — recipes plus a host seed compiler and kernel modules. This is the one to flash for a daily-driver install. `setup` builds packages from source on the live system into `/mnt`. - **sps-live-tty-slim.iso** (27M) — recipes and BusyBox only. Useful to try the installer UI; it cannot compile without a compiler. Firmware blobs are omitted (they are huge). Rebuild locally with `mkiso --with-firmware` if you need them on the live disc. NVIDIA still needs a matching kernel after first boot. A Plasma install compiles Qt and KDE from source and takes a lon
