.TH PKDEL 1 "2026-08-30" "SPS 1.0" "SPS Commands"
.SH NAME
pkdel \- remove one installed SPS package
.SH SYNOPSIS
.B pkdel
.RB [ --plan ]
.I package
.SH DESCRIPTION
.B pkdel
is the low-level removal tool. It removes paths still owned by one package,
prunes empty package directories where possible, and commits updated ownership
and world state. It does no dependency solving; use
.BR "sget remove"
for dependency-aware administration.
.SH OPTIONS
.TP
.B --plan
Report which package paths would be removed or retained without changing the
filesystem or database.
.SH PROTECTED FILES
A locally modified regular file under an
.B SPS_PRESERVE
prefix is retained and becomes unowned rather than being silently deleted.
.SH HOOKS
Visible pre-remove and post-remove package hooks may run. A failing pre-remove
hook aborts removal. A failing post-remove hook returns status 10 after the
removal and operation history have already committed.
.SH EXIT STATUS
Returns 0 on success, 2 for usage, 3 when the package is absent, 7 for unsafe
filesystem conflict, 8 for permission failure, 10 for hook failure, and 11 for
malformed/unavailable database state.
