SPS Linux live images for 2026-09-04-1.

Use these instead of 2026-09-02-1.

What changed since 2026-09-02-1:

• setup points the installed system at the official Git repositories.

Earlier discs bundled recipes as directory repositories without their .git history, so a copied tree froze the machine at the disc snapshot. Now setup indexes the live bundled trees in place (read-only) during install and writes git core/extra to the installed system, so src update keeps following the official remotes after first boot.

• Building Node no longer dies with "no module named bz2". The SPS

python recipe built without the _bz2 extension because bzip2 was not declared as a dependency, then Node's configure tripped on the import. python 3.14.7-5 declares bzip2 and xz, ships libbz2.so in lib64, and fails the build if a required extension is silently skipped; nodejs 24.20.0-1 declares its Python configure tool.

• mkiso seeds the live Python and Meson from the same interpreter the

disc will run, so a relocated host python (Linuxbrew) can no longer leave the seed without a stdlib or with dangling mesonbuild links.

• The opt-in sps-community recipe collection is documented in both

recipe trees. It is never enabled by setup or mkiso.

This disc is built from SPS a6f8b77, sps-core d72a194, and sps-extra cb6e0b9.

118 core recipes and 906 extra recipes are on the disc.

Assets:

• sps-live.iso - console live image with recipes and a compiler
• sps-live-slim.iso - small console image; setup needs the network
• sps-live-plasma.iso - Plasma/Wayland live session (Konsole -> setup)

Checksums are in SHA256SUMS.

Flash the tty image for a source install. Slim has no gcc.
