SPS Linux live images for 2026-09-01-1. Use these instead of -16. -16 still left live Plasma as a black screen: KWin started, but Xwayland had no XKB rules, Kirigami and the Qt SQLite driver were missing, and plasmashell then aborted because kactivitymanagerd could not load. Setup on the same image also failed autoconf probes that pass -lpthread, because glibc 2.34 only ships a tiny libpthread.a compatibility archive that the seed copy skipped. A stale sget cache could also reuse an older alsa-lib after the recipe changed. This set: - Plasma ISO copies and verifies Kirigami, Qt SQLite, XKB, xkbcomp, and the Plasma QML/applet library closure (including libtaskmanager) - seed gcc includes libpthread.a, libdl.a, librt.a, and msgfmt - sget rebuilds a cached package when definition_sha256 does not match Assets: - sps-live-tty.iso - console live image with recipes and a compiler - sps-live-t
SPS Linux live images for 2026-08-31-16. Use these instead of -15. -15 still failed alsa-utils during setup: AM_PATH_ALSA never added -L unless --with-alsa-prefix was set. Live Plasma could still hang as a black screen with an instant cursor after KSplash was already skipped. This set: - alsa-utils configure uses --with-alsa-prefix on SPS_ROOT/usr/lib64 - alsa-lib ships an unversioned libasound.so next to the soname - mkpkg writes CONFIG_SITE so autoconf sees SPS_ROOT LDFLAGS - setup can set user and root passwords (files or hashes, not argv) - live Plasma starts kwin_wayland --drm, then plasmashell - plasma-welcome Name is hardcoded SPS Linux, not os-release Splux - simpledrm loads only if no KMS node appeared Assets: - sps-live-tty.iso - console live image with recipes and a compiler - sps-live-tty-slim.iso - small console image; setup needs the network - sps-live-plasma.iso - Plasma/W
SPS Linux live images for 2026-08-31-15. Use these instead of -14. -14 still failed alsa-utils during setup: autoconf dropped LDFLAGS and gcc never saw libasound in the target. Live Plasma could also hang as a black screen with a cursor while KWin waited on KSplash. This set: - mkpkg wraps gcc/g++ so -isystem and -L for SPS_ROOT come before the rest of the command, even when configure unsets LDFLAGS - alsa-lib and alsa-utils recipes install into /usr/lib64 (release 2) - live Plasma skips KSplash and does not lock on start - the initramfs loads virtio_gpu (and related DRM helpers) before simpledrm - pkin prints each installed path; sget -q keeps the quieter log Assets: - sps-live-tty.iso - console live image with recipes and a compiler - sps-live-tty-slim.iso - small console image; setup needs the network - sps-live-plasma.iso - Plasma/Wayland live session (Konsole -> setup) Checksums a
SPS Linux live images for 2026-08-31-14. Use these instead of -13. -13 could not finish setup: gcc found host ALSA headers then failed to link libasound in the target, and the extras checklist offered mpv with no recipe. This set: - mkpkg compiles and links against SPS_ROOT so each package sees libraries already installed into the target - extras are unique, sorted, and only names that exist as recipes - setup and mkiso refuse unpackaged extras - file(1) magic is on the seeded disc - Plasma copies kactivitymanagerd, kscreenlocker_greet, Liberation fonts, and disables autolock on the live session Assets: - sps-live-tty.iso — console live image with recipes and a compiler - sps-live-tty-slim.iso — small console image; setup needs the network - sps-live-plasma.iso — Plasma/Wayland live session (Konsole -> setup) Checksums are in SHA256SUMS. 4ab6230d52912352d8a77a13ec32e7fce96517aeb4
