SPS Linux live ISOs (Splux, 2026-09-02)

SPS Linux live images for 2026-09-02. Use these instead of 2026-09-01-7. -7 died in setup while building autoconf 2.72: configure could not find a GNU m4 that supports accurate traces. The disc did not seed /usr/bin/m4, and mkpkg did not put the target /usr/bin on PATH, so even an installed m4 package was invisible. This disc seeds host GNU m4 and mkpkg searches SPS_ROOT/usr/bin first. This disc is built from SPS b669103, sps-core bfa89f1, and sps-extra c5cd39b. 118 core recipes and 904 extra recipes are on the disc. Assets: - sps-live-tty.iso - console live image with recipes and a compiler - sps-live-tty-slim.iso - small console image; setup needs the network - sps-live-plasma.iso - Plasma/Wayland live session (Konsole -> setup) Checksums are in SHA256SUMS. 0275c665d19251a7284f1400958e3aafabea57da00d20501aaa3cde3454539f3 sps-live-tty.iso d8f2cec3f581aa34cdd7016f16797ac67bfde1a

SPS Linux live ISOs (Splux, 2026-09-01-7)

SPS Linux live images for 2026-09-01-7. Use these instead of -6. -6 still shipped the older package manager and the smaller recipe trees. This disc is built from SPS 27f1327, sps-core bfa89f1, and sps-extra 3995b00. This set: - src update batches recipe-only hashes so a large extra tree stays quick - sget skips host cmake, ninja, and friends, and only pulls compile-time tools a package actually needs - mkpkg keeps OpenSSL modules on the target root - setup gains a daily-drive set - core is OpenSSL 3.5.8; Python builds fail if they lose _ssl; mpfr, mpc, binutils, and the compressors are in core - extra adds daily-driver recipes (mpv, sync, clipboard, laptop admin, bindist compilers, Splux apps) plus qol-cli and a daily-drive metapackage - 118 core recipes and 633 extra recipes are on the disc Assets: - sps-live-tty.iso - console live image with recipes and a compiler - sps-live-tty-

SPS Linux live ISOs (Splux, 2026-09-01-6)

SPS Linux live images for 2026-09-01-6. Use these instead of -5. -5 died in setup when pkin hit usr-merge `/lib` (`/lib exists and is not a directory`) and unowned live seeds (`/usr/bin/openssl`, busybox applets `clear`/`tset`). pkin now walks usr-merge and filesystem compat links as shared directories, replaces unowned live binaries, and keeps host-seeded `/etc` (openssl.cnf, CA certs) with `.sps-new`. Upgrade cleanup consults the installed database so shared directories stay. `src update`, sget, and mkpkg curl print progress. alsa-utils 5 installs udev rules under `/usr/lib/udev/rules.d`. `--install-bootloader` on EFI still writes `\\EFI\\BOOT\\BOOTX64.EFI`. Live PID 1 on this host is busybox init. ## Images - **sps-live-tty.iso** — recipes plus a host seed compiler and kernel modules. Flash this for a daily-driver install. - **sps-live-tty-slim.iso** — no seed compiler, no kernel modules
